  • Description
  • The film tells the story of a community managed initiative in India’s Lakshadweep Islands. These islands have corals that are susceptible to sea-level rise from global warming and processes like El Nino. But healthy coral reefs can help the islands remain resilient to such events. Project Giant Clam, is the story of India’s first community managed conservation area initiative in Lakshadweep. The project is spearheaded by marine ecologist and conservationist, Deepak Apte, through collaboration of BNHS and LEAD International and financial support of Darwin Initiative.
