  • Description
  • This French documentary depicts the life of fishermen and the dangers they face at sea. It talks about Brittany (France), Northern Ireland and Alaska, where hurricanes on the sea make the fishers' job very dangerous. Each year many fishermen die because of the brutality of the sea. In France every year 30-40 people die at sea. The documentary tells the story of a drowned boat, the "L'Anorient", when only 3 of 11 people survived. Overfishing adds to the problems of fishermen as they are remunerated by catch, so the pressure makes them take more risks at sea.
