  • Description
  • In the country of rivers, Bangladesh’s highest animal protein comes from fishes. But with changing marine ecology, blockage in migration routes of fishes and straining of rivers, the fish production had dropped considerably leading to malnutrition and poverty. The International Centre for Living Aquatic Resources Management (ICLARM) simulated the conditions of small mud-ponds to cultivate fish and upon its success, encouraged the women to practice fish farming. This short film illustrates how the lives of the women and their families were transformed with the practice of fish farming.
